Does the game contain spanking content?

(+3)

Hello!  I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the work you guys do. You don't know how much it means to me to have to opportunity to view genuine lesbian content. As a lesbian myself, the lack of representation has always bothered me. I love having the opportunity to engage with lesbian visual novels with a rich story and 18+ content that is actually real and not some fake production geared toward the male gaze (which is legit the most annoying thing ever). So thank you so much and I will continue to always be a big supporter of your work. I'm also really looking forward to the new game being released next year. Like I'm buying it the day of release.  lol

Can you perphaps recommend games like this? Apart from Love Bakudan, I mean :D Thanks for considering!

Hello there!

First of all, please allow us to apologize for such a late reply to this comment! We can only assume this slipped through the digital cracks during the middle of our KS campaign for Renai Bakudan; we are truly so sorry to not see this until now!

Regardless, thank you so much for such a heartfelt and sweet comment! Seeing words of encouragement like this really makes our day. It's no exaggeration to say that we are very passionate about what we do as well, and it's so cool to hear that it makes such a big impression on other lesbians just like us. Thank you for leaving us these words - similarly to how our games may make a big impression on you, every word of positivity does the very same for us, too. We are very grateful to hear such a thing!

Thank you so much for such a lovely comment, and again, we're so sorry for such a late reply. We hope you're doing well and having a great 2024 so far!

Hi:3! I'm a big fan of your work and I'd like to know if one day you'll also make your game work on Android phones?

(+3)

Hi! I bought this game on steam, and honestly really enjoyed the experience of the Sei route so far. Just one question-Is there any trans lesbian representation in any of these games? As one myself, it just always makes me feel more seen, is all. Lovely game tho <3

Hello, just a  question! This is regarding the sequel. Will the MC show up with her chosen love interest in the new story? Or is it a story that happens in an alternate reality?

Hi there! In RENAI BAKUDAN, there will be no canon relationships that carry over from LOVE BAKUDAN. Haruka Mishima will likely not be in it. Thank you for your interest!

(1 edit)

Hi, I just recently finished playing through the game. I really loved it! (Akane and Hyojin were my favorite routes) I looked around but couldn't find an answer so I thought I would ask a question I had here. Is there any way I can buy and download the soundtrack? I also really really liked it and would love to be able to listen to it more outside of the game.

Hi there! Thank you for the lovely comment! Unfortunately we can't sell the game's soundtrack due to various licensing issues, but it is available to listen to in-game via the unlockable jukebox. Thank you so much again for enjoying LOVE BAKUDAN!

Ahh, that's a damn shame. Thanks for helping me out and letting me know.

Hi there! This is the writer here replying to your comment. Thank you for playing LOVE BAKUDAN. I've given how to reply to this comment some thought, so I hope you can appreciate my honesty.

First of all, regardless of your viewpoint, making comments such as 'none of them feel queer' and 'relationships feel unexpectedly straight' feels thoughtlessly offensive to make directly to developers that are explicitly lesbian. As someone who has even talked about the real problem of heteronormative society, I would hope you can understand why I feel this is such an off-colour comparison to make. I am a lesbian, and I am personally only interested in lesbian stories, which is what I set out to do.

Secondly, I'd like to talk about that viewpoint you mentioned of not seeing them as 'queer'. They are queer. They're gay, in fact. And this is a game that was made by lesbians, with the intention of celebrating being a lesbian without the typical issues or confines that we have to face each day in a patriarchal society. Whether or not you view it as such, it isn't supposed to be defined by the presence OR absence of men. It's not about erasing them; they simply just don't have a place in it, so I chose not to write about them.

Thirdly, I have no interest in adhering to the ways that the real world treats lesbians within the confines of my own stories. This is a game that is just supposed to be a good time and honestly, not as deep as you're trying to make it seem. Every queer person has a different experience with approaching their own identity; this was a reflection of the developers of this game. I've tried to answer your view candidly as you sound like you thought a lot about it as well, so I hope that my point comes across, too.

Hello again, this is the writer here once more. Thank you for your reply, and I appreciate the apology. I'm glad to hear that you find the game to be a cathartic experience and at large sound like you are enjoying it. I hope that our brief discussion has made it clear of our stance, which is that lesbians (bluntly speaking) never get anything for ourselves, so we simply wanted to do a game with just lesbian characters. Regardless, I won't continue to go over it! I think I've made my point, and I hope you continue to enjoy the game.

Hi! As a lesbian game dev who also received comments as such I want to give you a big Thank You as simply pressing an upvote makes me feel horrible, you deserve more than this. You did a great job! Not only did you handle it professionally, but also you managed to protect our community as well! I just came across this comment after finishing the game(OMG I can’t decide between Himeko or the handsome Akane is the best girl of Love Bakudan as I love them both!) and I must say that we have many things in common. I don’t know, I just feel that your words awaken something inside me, and it fired up my love for making Yuri! As a lesbian who grew up reading, playing, and listening to lesbian media, your game is one of the gayest things I read!

All in all, I’m sorry that this happened to you, I don’t think the one who comments this has bad intentions as they spent their valuable time commenting. I admire your point of view and let me just say this: I LOVE YOU! I can’t wait to read Good luck baby when I have time! Best wishes to your studio! Thanks so so much for reading my comment!

(+1)

Hey there! Aww, thank you so much - what a lovely comment to receive! We're really touched to read this - thank you for all of the support and very high praise included here, we're very honored! ♥ We truly wish you all the best too!

(+1)

Omg tell me about it we literally can never have our own content. It's either straight or it doesn't depict real lesbian relationships aka for the male gaze instead. Good on you for creating this reply and making this point clear! Ugh, and side note, I would say it's between Himeko and Akane for me as my favorite characters. Between Akane's abs and Himekoe's shy cute personality, I just can't lol.  It's just gay panic overload. lol

(+3)

hey noodletub games...rn i cant buy it but i wanted to ask is there any customization in the game? ik it sounds dumb to ask but customization in a story game is the best thing ever to me

(+4)

Hello, thanks a lot for your interest! Other than choosing the route you end up on and the bookselling minigame, LOVE BAKUDAN is a straight forward visual novel with no customization options. We hope that you enjoy the game if you get a chance to try it out!

(+2)

hi, would you ever be open to releasing this onto mac?

(+3)

Hi there! Yes, we started work on a Mac port in the last few months, so we're definitely aiming towards an eventual release. We can only do so when we have access to a Mac however, so it's been slow going. Even though we can't give a ballpark estimate for a release time yet, the short answer is that there will be a Mac version of LOVE BAKUDAN sometime in the future. Thank you so much for your interest!

First of all, having just finished the game concluding on Sei’s route and subsequently the extra Gabby story, allow me to say you have done an absolutely remarkable job. I do wish the H scenes had more to them, but that’s probably just me, and I do realize they aren’t the focus of them game. It’s just that to me having that emotional connection to the characters make H scenes so much better, but many of them were not as much as I wanted. By no means is this a deal breaker, it’s simply my one complaint of this stunning work. I absolutely loved every route, and all the characters feel very real. I’m glad this got funded.

That said… I have finished every route of this kinetic visual novel… and I am missing 3 CGs and CG replays. The first of Himiko’s and the first two of Yuki’s. As I pointed out, this is a kinetic visual novel, and as such having done everything in the game (or so I believe) I should have 100% of everything unlocked, especially considering I got every single book sale correct across every single route (and yet I am ALSO missing 4 of those…)

Would either of you happen to know what I’ve done wrong? I have every character showing on my main menu. It’s not as if I made the wrong choices considering there aren’t any. I’m frankly baffled. I even tried going through the extra scenes, but nothing helped.

(+1)

Hi there! Thank you so much for the lovely comment; such praise and knowing you enjoyed the game so thoroughly truly does mean the world to us both. We sincerely hope you continue to enjoy LOVE BAKUDAN, even in the future! ♥

That's unusual about the missing CG's, though. We had one report about this around the time the patch was released, though that was to do with a single missing Himeko CG, never about the books. Quite strange...we'll do some deeper digging into it on our end, but in the meantime, have you tried skipping through the routes with the missing CG's a second time using CTRL? It could trigger the unlocks once you pass the missing CGs, but it's hard to say when bugs are involved. So sorry for the late reply, but again, thank you very much for your kindness!

(+1)

That worked. Somehow. Even for the books. Not like I skipped anything my first time around, but whatever. Thanks for the solution. Also, for your next game I suggest adding a setting where the whole message is instant, instead of one sentence at a time. I always click to advance to the next line faster and end up skipping the message on accident because I don’t know how long it will be.

Hello there :D

So i just bought this game, and have not played very much, so this is a very early review, so yeh take that as u will. So far i have one problem with this game. Its a yuri game focused on girls, and only girls so far, which is why i bought it HOWEVER, why do all the girls call each other "handsome" this bugs me so much tbh. usually u use handsome to describe a guy while u use "pretty" or "beautiful" for girls. This is not a dealbreak or anything, not even close. It just bugs me a lot and i am generally confused why u would choose that word. Other than that the game is good so far. i will leave anoter review after i have finished my first route and then my last review when i have finished em all.

Kalitinsa

(+7)

Hey there, Kalitinsa! Thank you for your comment. This is the writer replying directly, so I hope this can help with any thoughts you may have on the game.

I'm a gay woman myself, and I have no problem with the term handsome being used for other women. In my personal opinion, this is a gender neutral term used to describe someone who is...well, handsome. Good-looking, strong, charming...these are all things that I believe factor into the word. Women and femininity are not - and should not - be restricted to the use of 'feminine' sounding words like pretty, beautiful, etc, though there are also more than a few instances in the game where the girls are also described as that. I'm sure you'll see a variation of compliments as you progress through the routes.

On a literal level (though I think this is being a bit pedantic and is not my personal reason behind why I use it), you can use it for women just fine. This was an unusual comment to receive, so I thought I'd cover my bases to be triple-sure and yes, it says you can right here.

Regardless of whether or not our opinions differ, I sincerely hope you continue to enjoy LOVE BAKUDAN!

(-5)

I personally do not associate the word handsome with women, but to each and there own, and it really was just a minor thing. Beside that the game is very well written and i applaud you for that. I am really enjoying the game, and as u said when i got further into the game, other terms were used to describe the characters. I appreciate you taking time out of your day to answer my question, and  i do apologize if what i said sounded rude or anything like that.

Have a good one :D

Hey there,

I'm not familiar with itch, I hope I'm using the comment section correctly here ahah. I have a question about your game: does my purchase come with a steam key perchance? Since I live in Germany, I can't actually buy this game on Steam (keys still work for some reason) even though it's my preferred platform. I'd also buy it on itch, but ... it would be much more convenient for me if I could install it via Steam. Is this an option or am I out of luck? Cheers and thanks in advance for your help!

(+1)

Hey ShinKotzilla,

The itch version of LOVE BAKUDAN does not come with a key for the Steam version. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but the itch edition is DRM free and, to our understanding, is available in various countries with censorship restrictions. Thank you for your interest though, we hope you enjoy the game should you decide to check it out!

(+4)

I want to chime in and tell you Steam has the ability to launch games and applications from its menu as long as it's installed on the same machine as Steam. I launch a lot of itch games via Steam to keep it simple.

i bought this game the other day & i've still only played through yuki + half of angel's route but i can already declare that this is one of my visual novels of the year. i adore all of the characters, the world setting, the writing, the art style (i love it so much!), it's just all so absolutely lovely. as a lesbian it's so very nice and refreshing to play a game that feels so obviously written by gay women (sorry i'm assuming here, developers! i would be agape if it wasnt) while also having it's fair share of sexually explicit material. a game that is both indulgently horny /and/ extremely thoughtfully written with fleshed out game characters, aimed at a lesbian audience? i could genuinely not ask for more.

i adored yuki's route and the only downside to doing hers first is i will feel a little heartbroken every time haruka and her don't get together. (spoiler here for something most players will likely ascertain pretty quickly) i do have to say i am still a little shattered that teru's love for yuki goes forever unresolved in that route.  it's okay, it just gives me more space to devise my own OT3 headcanons, lol.

i've also been having plenty of fun with angel's route so far and think she's adorable. also, i really like the dating simulator setup because i feel like most yuri VNs are about a preset couple and it's nice to get to indulge in a dating simulator for a gay female audience for once. i will be delighted to look forward to any other projects in the future because i've completely fallen in love with love bakudan.

Hi there, spacesoda! Thank you so much for such a truly heartwarming and glowing review of our game. You are absolutely right that it was written and programmed by two gay women! Whilst we definitely wanted to make the game a little raunchy and silly, we also wanted to use the opportunity to make something that was thought-provoking and with (hopefully!) well-written characters, haha!

Again, thank you so much for the kind words, they really do mean more than we could express to the people who play this game. Any kind of encouragement or simply knowing that it has made such an impact on a reader is more than enough satisfaction for us, and definitely encourages us with future projects for sure.

Have a wonderful day and we truly hope you enjoy the rest of the routes! ♥

I haven't play all of the paths in this game yet but I can say with certainty that Angels path is the worst...unless you end up getting beat up without fighting back on all of the paths then I would have to change my statement that ALL the paths suck.  Needless to say when that happened on Angels path I decided to just stop her path and I have NO intention of going back...and yes, before you ask I am writing this in a fit of rage so my judgment might be a little clouded but I don't care.

Hi ClassicGamer,

Usually we wouldn't reply to personal opinions as such, but as your reaction was something that took us both by surprise, we thought we would respond. For anyone else reading our response to this comment, please be advised that there will be some spoilers for anyone who hasn't played Angel's route and wants to.

First of all, whilst your anger is understandable by Haruka getting beaten up, the purpose of Angel's route in particular is to demonstrate her escaping an abusive situation. Often times those who are the partners of those suffering can be targeted by the perpetrator, and hurt as a result. Abuse is something harrowing and that many of us have been through, so this was in no way to condone accepting violence. However, if it was simply about there being a lack of choice, LOVE BAKUDAN is a kinetic visual novel with very minimal choice, with the only choices being the quiz at the start to select your route and the bookselling.

It's entirely your decision and we won't presume to know the reasons why this affected you in such a way, but we hope that if you feel calm enough to you decide to give it another chance.

(-3)

Well....honestly wasn't expecting a reply. I guess I should first state that by no means is your game bad. In fact, it had me hooked from the beginning which is something that I have trouble finding from games or novels nowadays. It's just that I have three pet peeves when it comes to the content of any game or book I enjoy, and that  is NTR, rape, and a weak/submissive main character. Now I get that the MC isn't necessarily submissive or weak (probably...I haven't finished the game yet so I don't know), but when I see them getting their butt whooped and they choose not to fight back I just can't help but get angry. I have dropped many games, books, manga's, etc. in the past when I saw any of the three previously mention pet peeves and almost never pick them back up.  I'm sorry about the angry comment, I just sometimes feel the need to express my irritation even when it is definitely not needed.

Someday, I'll buy this.

Bought it on Steam, <3 this game. :) I thought Yuki was going to be annoying but she turned out to be my favorite one.

Thanks for letting us know! We've been informed of this bug, and are currently working on a patch to fix this, as well as add some small tweaks to the game. Thank you again, and we hope you've been enjoying LOVE BAKUDAN!

Yup, it's awesome.  Do you use an issue tracker?  I think you can use GitHub's if you make an empty project - issues can be reported and viewed to prevent duplicate reports.
